システム音の鳴らし方ですが、
ファイル名を指定して実行より、
mmsys.cpl と入力し、
サウンドとオーディオデバイスのプロパティを開きます。
次に、サウンドタブに移動し
起動音、終了音などを再生する
といった流れです。

Thank you for asking this.
VCSA is running on the default self-signed certificates and they're not expired.
Again, to sum up:
- CEIP is enabled,
- Proxy has been configure in both vSphere Web Client (HA Cluster > Configure > vSAN > General) and VAMI,
- HCL Database update works,
- VAMI update check works,
- vSAN Online Health check fails and Online Health test has status 'Disabled'.
I have opened the SR # 17499310406 with VMware and they're investigating this issue at the moment.
I post more information when available.

Eval Guest OS Questions: Windows 7 Audio Distortion, No 3D Support for Windows XP, No Windows 98...? (Workstation Pro 12.5.x)
Hi all,
I just completed evaluating Workstation Pro 12.5 for use in a new server build, and have a few outstanding questions (translation: I am pulling what out what little hair I have left, so please HELP!!!)
My system build:
Host OS: Ubuntu
MD: Gigabyte Z270X (16GB RAM)
Processor: Intel i5
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti
First, I have found that audio in a Windows 7 guest is distorted. After a great deal of searching, I found a (pseudo) solution in removing a specific line (hdaudio =...) from the VM configuration file (Windows 7.vmx). Prior to removing this line, the VM would see the generic audio driver that comes with Windows 7, but after this line is removed, the guest sees the VMWare HD audio driver. While this removes (most of the) distortion, it is still not perfect. Am I missing something here?
Second, all attempts at installing Windows XP SP3 with 3D support will not work. When I started the evaluation, it was on WSP 12.5.6, and I found that, upon installation of VMWare tools with 3D acceleration, I was limited to a display if 320x280x16 (I did not even know there was a 16-bit color until now). If I uncheck the "3D Acceleration" box under display properties, I get my full desktop back (32 bit color, etc). Now that I have 12.5.7, I just get a black screen on booting the guest XP VM. Is the 3D support for XP broken, or am I just not doing something right? It should be noted that 3D acceleration works fine in a Windows 7 guest.
Finally, I cannot even get Windows 98SE (yes, I still use some archaic 16-bit apps) to install. Has Win98 support been removed from Workstation Pro 12.5 altogether as it is so old?

早速、確認しましたところ、
確かに、Windows起動音が音割れしていて、
滑らかさに欠ける状態になることを確認できました。
ありがとうございました。
Windows Media Playerを起動しているだけで、
再生していなくても、この音割れは無くなりますね。
また、C:\WINDOWS\Mediaの各種のシステム音関連の.wavを
Windows Media Playerで再生しても、問題がないので、
rundll32.exe(mmsys.cpl)の単体起動で再生する時に発生する問題の様です。
（.wmaと.wavの違いでもありませんでした）
プログラム毎に、優先するオーディオドライバーが違い、
Windows Media Playerが起動すると、Workstationと相性の良いドライバーが待機してくれて、
rundll32.exe上での再生も処理してくれた結果、音割れせず、rundll32.exeだけだと、
他のオーディオドライバーが処理しているような感じです。（根拠無しです）
サウンド関連の設定をいじってみましたが、
改善は見られず...私では力不足のようで、お時間頂いたのに申し訳ないです。

I am uploading an esxi 5.5 iso image into a vcenter 6.0/vum 6.0 environ,ent but getting an error
failed to import data
the uploaded upgrade package cannot be used with vmware vsphere update manager
any idea
same thing with uploading this same image into a vcenter 5.1 environment

Why vMotion halt virutal machines for few seconds
Currently, we used vsphere 6.0u2. We have made some tests on vMotion, and found a strange problem that virtual machine will be in unresponsive status for few seconds during the migration process. Normally, we expect that vMotion will only make the virtual machine lost in 200ms~300ms. Stuck in few seconds is not acceptable for our app due to it is sensitive to the network status.
After check the virtual machine log, we get the content as:

このXPの仮想マシンは、かれこれ、5年くらい前に作成したもので、
当時のVMware Workstationは、6とか7だったような記憶がありますが、
残念ながら、用途上、サウンドは不要だったので、そもそも、
サウンドカードを追加しておらず、問題有無を確認しておりません。
ワークアラウンドとしては、
MediaPlayerをスタートアップで起動して、邪魔にならないよう、
ツールバーに最小化しておく、というところでしょうか...

bandwidth utilization for Vmware Replication 5.5
Hi,
We have VMware replication setup between two sites and around 50+ VMs are covered under this VMware replication 5.5. All these VMs replication traffic are passing through WAN link between two sites. our requirement is to calculate bandwidth utilizing for VM replication only. We already checked with WAN provider and they said they can not give bifurcation for this as they don't have any tool like netflow with them.
any other command in VMware replication which can give the bandwidth utilization ?

Also, one other note: I was mistaken in our vcenter version. It looks to be Update 2e. In my lab I was able to add a 5.5u3 host OK. So would this mean that the update is not immediately required?

Yes it it, when I setup my iSCSI HBA with 1 uplink ( no LAG) it work a charm and I have any compliant vmkernel issue. When I setup with the lag (last picture) I have this issue.
Do I have to setup something specific for LAG and iSCSI Software adapter ?

Looking over the symptoms I do not have an easy answer. From the description, there seems to be some routing issues that may be in play. With the move was the physical hardware moved for the upstream (any switches) as well? This is a guess at this point as it there needs to be some troubleshooting done to confirm. If you are still seeing this issue and have not already, contacting support may expedite a resolution(VMware - How to File a Support Request Online ).

Standalone converter install error 1310 file msvcp90.dll Windows 2008 server
I'm trying to install the VMware standalone converter into a VM of Windows 2008R2 server. This is just a server itself, not the domain controller. The install goes only so far, to about 1/3rd of the way of "copying files," and then hangs with:
Error 1310: Error writing to file: mscvp90.dll Verify that you have access to the directory.
Well, I'm logged in as the Administrator, I get the same result if I just start the install manually or with the "install as administrator" option. Also tried giving ""everyone" access to the vmware directory under Program Files (x86). Still won't install. Version of converter is vmware-converter-6.6.1-3533064.exe There are other copies of msacvp90.dll on the system, of varying size, but beyond the one located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone\Resources\msvcp90.dll the rest of them are off the C:\Windows\winsxs directory tree. Size of the one off the vmware path is 557 kb - the same as a couple in the windows versions. Since it doesn't tell me which one of these it's trying to write, I assume the vmware path version.
Any ideas much appreciated as this is quite frustrating!
